Last week was certainly one to remember.

Four seasons in one week

We started the week with soaring temperatures and what was soon becoming another heatwave. By midweek, the beaches were busy, the sea was calm and it was one of those weeks where everyone seemed to be making the most of being outdoors. It was the second spell of exceptionally warm weather we've seen this year, and for a few days it really felt like summer had arrived.

Then, as quickly as it arrived, everything changed.

Thursday evening brought one of the most impressive lightning displays some of us have ever seen in the area. Thunderstorms rolled across the county, with spectacular lightning lighting up the skies over the coast. Social media was soon full of photographs from across Pembrokeshire, and we were lucky enough to capture a few ourselves.

By Friday morning, the sunshine had been replaced by low cloud and sea mist, giving the coastline a completely different feel. If you hadn't seen it yourself, you'd never have believed it was the same place just 24 hours earlier. The same beaches, the same coastline and the same sea had taken on a completely different character overnight.

It's one of the things that makes living and holidaying here so interesting. The weather can change quickly, but so can the scenery. One day brings bright blue skies and calm seas, the next dramatic clouds, rolling mist and an entirely different view.

One thing's for sure – life on the Pembrokeshire coast is never boring. Last week gave us sunshine, storms and lightning, who knows what next week will bring.
