5 Reasons To Stay In Pembrokeshire
And 5 reasons why you might return
There are many reasons visitors return to Pembrokeshire year after year.
For some it’s the coastline, for others it’s the beaches, the walks, the wildlife — or simply the feeling of being outdoors a bit more.
In the space of a single day, you can go from dramatic cliff paths to quiet woodland trails, wide open countryside and hidden coves tucked along the coast. All of which can bring a different experience with each passing season.
Here are five of the things we think make Pembrokeshire well worth a visit.
1. The Coastline
Pembrokeshire’s coastline is probably what first comes to mind for most people — and for good reason.
From towering cliffs and hidden coves to sweeping sea views and coastal paths that seem to go on forever, there’s always something different to discover. Some areas feel rugged and dramatic, others calm and sheltered, depending on where you wander.
Even after years of living and working here, certain views still stop us in our tracks.
2. The Beaches
Whether you prefer wide sandy beaches, quieter hidden spots, rock pools, bodyboarding or simply sitting with a coffee watching the sea, there’s a beach for just about everyone here.
Some are busy and full of life during the summer months, while others feel almost untouched outside of peak season.
One of the nicest things about Pembrokeshire is how much variety there is within such a short distance.
3. Woodland Walks
Pembrokeshire isn’t just coastline.
Some of our favourite places are actually tucked slightly inland — woodland paths, shaded trails, bluebell-covered banks in spring and quieter pockets of nature away from the busier beaches.
At Swallow Tree, being surrounded by greenery is a huge part of what makes the setting feel so special. It’s where the woods really do meet the sea.
4. Rolling Hills & Open Spaces
Beyond the coast, Pembrokeshire opens out into wide countryside, rolling hills and huge skies.
There’s something refreshing about the amount of open space here. Whether it’s walking the coastal path, exploring inland routes or simply driving through the countryside, you never feel too far from nature.
It gives the county a very different feel depending on where you explore.
5. Wildlife & Nature
Wildlife is just part of everyday life here.
Depending on the season, you might spot seals along the coastline, seabirds overhead, foxes wandering through the greenery or wildflowers appearing across the hedgerows and woodland edges.
Sometimes it’s the bigger moments people remember — but often it’s the smaller ones too.
Pembrokeshire has a way of making people want to come back. Maybe it’s the variety, maybe it’s the scenery, or maybe it’s simply the opportunity to spend more time outdoors, exploring and slowing down a little without even really trying. There’s space here to reconnect — with nature, with family, and with each other. Whether it’s walking the coastline, spending the day on the beach, spotting wildlife, or just sitting outside together at the end of the day, it’s often the simple moments people remember most.
